I Tried CoolSculpting®!

This post is sponsored by CoolSculpting® but all opinions are my own.

I did it! Last year, I had CoolSculpting® done on my abdomen, love handles (flanks), and inner thighs. Even at my thinnest, I have always had extra fat on my inner thighs and lower stomach. Now that I’m three kids deep, it’s expanded to include my upper stomach and love handles. Oh, the joys of motherhood.

My CoolSculpting® process started with a consultation with Laura Fischer at the Nassif Med Spa in Beverly Hills, California. During the consultation, Laura and I discussed the areas I was interested in treating, and what areas I was a good candidate for. It’s necessary to have specific bulges of fat to be a good candidate for treatment. Lucky for me, I had some good fat areas to work with.

A couple weeks later it was treatment day. Each area takes as little as 35 minutes to treat, so I scheduled a 3-1/2-hour time block. I was definitely nervous it would hurt, but surprisingly happy that it was just more uncomfortable than painful. Once the machine is started, the area gets very cold and uncomfortable, but these sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Once the applicator was removed, I felt a sharp cold pain which only lasted for 10-15 seconds.

My stomach was sore and tender for the next 3-5 days, but I hardly felt anything in the love handles and inner thighs. The treatment areas were still numb (2 weeks later), and I was told to expect the numbness for up to a month post-treatment.

I couldn’t wait for the next several weeks to go by so I could start to see the results! Stay tuned for a rundown on my second treatment and for pictures of the outcome!

Important Safety Information

The CoolSculpting® procedure is not for everyone. You should not have the CoolSculpting® procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.

Tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions including recent surgery, pre-existing hernia, and any known sensitivities or allergies.

During the procedure you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity, and sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental or submandibular area treatment.

Rare side effects may also occur. CoolSculpting® may cause a visible enlargement in the treated area which may develop two to five months after treatment and requires surgical intervention for correction.
