Refugio State Beach: A Summertime MUST DO

What’s better than the beach, family and perfect weather? Not much. Recently, me and the fam spent a weekend at one of our favorite camping spots: Refugio State Beach. This beach is literally perfect for us because not only is it GORGEOUS, but it’s also very kid-friendly since it’s far away from any main roads or highways.

This place is great, but definitely meant for the prepared camper. There are no hookups, so be prepared with your own generator for power and bring your own fresh water. The beach does provide showers and even a small store that’s open in the summer – which is super convenient. They have great sandwiches and other small items.

There is an old playground that has a big slide and a swing set that’s perfect for the kids. The area is perfect for biking too, and since it’s away from the traffic of the city, it’s totally safe for the kids to run around. My boys spent their weekend running all over that beach and had a blast.

Refugio is awesome because it’s a state beach, which makes it super cheap to camp at. They allow tent and RV camping and you can reserve a space at reservecalifornia.com. Check out the pics from our trip below!!!
